CITA is the international association of organisations authorised to undertake compulsory periodic inspection of motor vehicles and their trailers.

CITA is

• dedicated to improving road safety and protecting the environment and to developing best practice on periodic inspection internationally
• an international forum for exchanging information, experience and expertise related to periodic inspection
• recognised by the Commission of the European Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe for its expertise in relation to periodic inspection

There are CITA members in all continents of the world, inspecting over 200 million vehicles a year.
