
The venue for the 2011 CITA Conference and General Assembly was the Hotel Meliã Berlin, situated in central downtown Berlin.
VdTÜV acted as host and is a non-profit organisation serving the public interest in matters of technology and technological progress.
It promotes the third party approach in the fields of consulting, testing, inspection, certification and training in matters of technical safety, quality, environmental protection and cost effectiveness. Further, VdTÜV cooperates in the development of harmonised standards for technical inspection as well as continuing development of high safety standards by providing expertise in the formulation of laws, norms and technical rules.
The 2011 CITA Conference had the theme "Mutual Recognition and Continuous Compliance" and three sub-themes:
- Mutual Recognition of Roadworthiness Inspections - the key steps to achieve this goal
- Strategies for delivering Continuous Compliance
- CITA Projects - progress with 3 key initiatives
