2008 CITA CONFERENCE
6-8 May 2008
Porto (Portugal)
Hosted by ANCIA |
06-08 May 2008
Porto (PORTUGAL)
Hosted by ANCIA
(Associação Nacional de Centros de Inspecção Automóvel)
Location
The two previous CITA conferences took place in North America and Asia, allowing to discuss issues relevant to these regions. Europ has a long tradition of vehicle inspection and road worthiness enforcement. The 2008 Conference took place in Europe once more thereby providing an opportunity for some European countries to share experiences and knowledge of current vehicle inspection practice in their countries.
Nevertheless, the conference format also provided the opportunity for some regions and countries outside Europe to share their experiences. We were informed of the well-established Japanese system and the rapidly developing arrangements in Central & South America.
Win-Win
Key speakers from administrations and operators provided key issue information and a view on the Win-Win approaches for Periodical Technical Inspections (PTI) and Roadside Inspections (RI) in their countries.
Other speakers presented updates on future initiatives:
- A European PTI Technical Database.
