BELFAST / DUBLIN
The 2003 CITA Conference with its theme 'Creating the Future with Innovation & Initiative' took place in Belfast (Northern Ireland) and Dublin (Ireland) from 16-19 September 2003. The Conference was jointly hosted by the 'Drivers & Vehicle Testing Agency (DVTA)' of N-Ireland and the 'National Car Testing Service (NCTS)' and the 'Department of Transport' of Ireland.
The 10th CITA General Assembly (CITA members only) took place in Belfast (16-17 September 2003) while the Technical Symposium part of the Conference (open to everyone interested in the inspection of in-service motor vehicles and their trailers) was held in Dublin (17-19 September 2003). A pleasant rail journey took the CITA members from one venue to the other, crossing country borders, a new experience for CITA!
In Dublin, CITA had the pleasure of welcoming more than 250 participants in the Conference, another CITA record.
A new innovation this year was that all participants received a copy of a CD-Rom including all the papers that were presented during the Conference Workshops as well as the keynote speeches that were delivered at the start of the Conference. A copy of the CD-Rom can be obtained upon request. The other documents can be downloaded from the website.
During the Conference's plenary opening session, CITA had the honour of introducing following keynote speakers :
